Model Home Walk-Through: The Margate

Let's take a walk-through of one of our larger single family homes.

New residents at the Villages of Citrus Hills move here from homes of all shapes and sizes. While it is true that many of our residents move here with a desire to downsize, we have to remember that downsize is a relative term.

Depending on what type of home they are moving away from, some of our most popular floor plans might actually be a bit small for them. That’s where The Margate steps in.

This fabulous floor plan offers a total of more than 4,000 square feet, and an actual living area that measures more than 3,000 square feet. It has three bedrooms that are paired with 3.5 bathrooms. So there is plenty of room here for anyone looking for something a little more spacious.

In order to properly appreciate all that The Margate has to offer, let’s take a walk through the floor plan and experience it for ourselves.

Entering The Margate

Standing outside The Margate, you will notice a tall, two-story entryway right in the center of the house. Off to one side will be the two-car garage, and on the other side will be a large tower with two stories of bay windows.

The main entrance will take you through the front door and into a foyer that is flanked by the private study on one side and the dining room on the other. Both the study and the dining room have windows looking out the front of the house. The back of the dining room and foyer open into the massive great room.

Before we head back into the heart of the house, let’s not forget that there is also an owner’s entrance from the garage that takes you into a hallway on the opposite side of the dining room, past the laundry room, and into the back of the dining room as it moves into the great room.

The Spacious Living Areas

At the center of The Margate is the impressive 20’ by 23’ 6” great room that makes just about any other great room feel small by comparison. This is the space where your family will be spending most of their time, and it is wide open as it moves into the kitchen and breakfast nook, and out back onto the lanai.

The kitchen, which you will find just off the great room on the garage side of the house, has a large peninsula bar that separates the space from the great room. The sink is right in that peninsula, and then behind it is a smaller island for preparing meals. The oven and stove are built into the wall that is at the back of the kitchen.

Just off the kitchen towards the front of the house is a powder room, conveniently located for guests.

At the back of the kitchen is where you will find the breakfast nook that has a huge window looking out onto the lanai. If you want to make your way out onto the lanai, there is a large sliding glass door at the back of the great room.

The Margate Bedrooms

The Margate has two guest bedrooms that are located on either side of the kitchen. Each of these rooms comes with their own bathroom and small walk-in closets. So whether you intend to have regular guests or make some other use of these rooms, there are plenty of options.

On the other side of the great room is where you will find the master suite. You’ll notice that we haven’t spent much time on this side of the floor plan yet. That’s because the master suite takes up almost the entire side of the house!

Entering the master suite from the great room, you will notice exactly what we are talking about. This is one oversized bedroom that even has a sitting area along the back of the house. Towards the front of the master bedroom is a small hallway that leads past not one, but two walk-in closets on its way into the stunning master bathroom.

Remember that large tower with two stories of bay windows? Well, that just happens to be the location of the luxurious soaking tub in The Margate. If you are looking for the ultimate luxury bathroom, this one is going to be pretty hard to beat!

From the fabulous facade to the great room and the master suite, size is the name of the game with The Margate.
