Whether you prefer high-end luxury brands, discount outlets, or bargain flea markets, there is something to satisfy every type of shopaholic in the Tampa area.
That’s what makes Tampa the perfect destination for your next shopping excursion! There are tons of options that are all located close to each other, and there is no shortage of great places to eat between stores.
Here are some of the most popular shopping areas and things to do in Tampa:
Ellenton Premium Outlets
The Ellenton Premium Outlets are located about 30 minutes south of Tampa, which makes them about a 2-hour trip for residents of the Villages of Citrus Hills.
However, the collection of great designer brands that you will find here makes the trip well worth it. These outlets feature 130 designer and name brand stores such as Coach, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Nike, Polo, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Under Armor.
You’ll discover some of the best shopping anywhere in Florida!
Getting to the Ellenton Premium Outlets is a breeze because they are located right off of I-75! If you are looking for something to eat nearby, Chumlee’s Wings, Woody’s River Roo Pub & Grill, and Anna Maria Oyster Bar are all great options that are located right in Ellenton.
Hyde Park Village
While it doesn’t contain anywhere near the number of stores that the Ellenton Premium Outlets offers, Hyde Park Village presents a unique atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing day of shopping and dining.
The collection of stores here features popular apparel options like Tommy Bahama and Lululemon Athletica. There are also some really interesting specialty stores like Ashworth Artisan Chocolate, Dixieland Monogram, and Downtown Dogs.
If you are looking for a great meal in Hyde Park Village, Timpano Italian Chophouse is the place to go, but Irish 31 and Wine Exchange are also great options to check out.
Hyde Park Village is located right in Tampa’s Hyde Park Historic Village and is about an hour and a half from the Villages of Citrus Hills.
Westshore District
Located just a bit west of Hyde Park Village near the Tampa International Airport is where you will find the Westshore District, which presents the unique opportunity to kill two birds with one stone on your next shopping trip.
There are two great shopping malls located here and you can spend an entire day enjoying all of the choices at International Plaza and Bay Street as well as WestShore Plaza.
International Plaza and Bay Street is one of the most high-end shopping malls you will find anywhere, boasting the stores ofBurberry, Gucci, Henri Bendel, Montblac, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Tiffany & Co.
On the other end of the spectrum, WestShore Plaza contains all of the standard mall stores that you love such as Macy’s, JC Penney, and Sears.
There is no shortage of great restaurants in the Westshore District either. Eddie V’s Prime Seafood is one of the best spots in the area, but if you are looking for something a little less expensive, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is also a great place.
The Shops at Wiregrass
Because The Shops at Wiregrass are located a bit north of Tampa, they are actually just over an hour from the Villages of Citrus Hills, and they present an interesting hybrid option that falls somewhere between the exclusive luxury of International Plaza and Bay Street, and the standard mall experience of Westshore Plaza.
Here you will find an open air shopping district with more than 100 stores ranging from high-end options like Coach and Pandora to more common favorites such as Macy’s and Dillard’s.
This area is also packed with great restaurants like OTB Delight Cafe, The Hungry Greek, Burger Monger, Primebar, and Bonsai Sushi. You should not have any trouble finding a great meal near The Shops at Wiregrass.
Big Top Flea Market
While all of these high-end malls and outlets are great for finding brand names, bargain shoppers will be delighted by the more than 1,100 vendors that fill the Big Top Flea Market in Thonotosassa every weekend.
This enormous flea market is located just past The Shops at Wiregrass on I-75 and is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Your shopping trip to Tampa can contain any combination of brand names and bargains that you like, depending on how you plan it.
Combine that with all of the fantastic restaurants that accompany each of these shopping areas and it’s not difficult to see why Tampa is such a great place for your next shopping adventure!
