In a warm and inviting conversation with Carol Schulz, who is approaching her remarkable 20-year mark with The Villages of Citrus Hills, her genuine passion and commitment for the community shined through. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Carol's journey to Florida took an unexpected turn when she first encountered The Villages of Citrus Hills at a home show. Drawn to the captivating booth featuring images of beautiful water and the nature coast, Carol and her husband couldn't resist engaging with the sales executives all night.

Reflecting on their tour through Terra Vista in the early nineties, Carol notes the incredible growth The Villages of Citrus Hills has undergone since then. Despite initial buyer's remorse about moving to Florida, a transformative pontoon boat experience in Homosassa Springs became a pivotal moment. "Wait, we kind of love it here," Carol realized, leading to their big move to Florida.

Carol began her career at The Villages of Citrus Hills as a sales executive while living on the Oaks Golf Course; however, a fondness for Terra Vista grew and grew, which led to them building their first home in Terra Vista. She fondly remembers the excitement of helping clients find their dream homes. After years of living and working in Citrus Hills Carol and her husband went on to buy their third home in Citrus Hills

When asked what makes the Villages of Citrus Hills special, Carol passionately expressed, "I personally like that it is family-owned. Whatever goes on, seen or unseen, is usually seen by the family first and handled accordingly. Being family-owned is what makes it special here, unlike other lifestyle communities that feel corporate and cold. This has a personal touch, setting us far and above other places."
