The warm days of summer are finally here, and for many people the Fourth of July holiday marks the high point of their summer. In between your own private cookouts with friends and hanging out around the pool, there are also plenty of organized activities and events going on around the Villages of Citrus Hills this month.
Here are some of the activities and events that you will not want to miss out on.
Social Events
Movies on the Green returns on July 11 at the Skyview Golf Driving Range. This month, the movie is Last Vegas starring Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Kline. Popcorn will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring as many other snacks as you like. The movie will start playing right at sundown.
On Thursday, July 17, the Skyview Restaurant will be hosting Across the Pond and Canada, a social event specifically geared towards our international members that have come from Canada, England, the British Isles, or any other countries across the globe.
If you are looking to dethrone “The Crocs,” who won the Trivia Challenge in June, you will get your chance on Tuesday, July 22 in the Hampton Room. The Cash Bar for this event will open at 5:30 pm with dinner being served at 5:45 pm and the trivia game following at 6:30 pm.

Anyone interested in learning the basics of tennis should attend the Free Beginner Tennis Clinic at the Skyview Tennis Center on Tuesday July 8 at 11:00 am. Basic fundamentals, rules, and score keeping will be taught to anyone who attends. Tennis shoes are required, but racquets can be borrowed from the tennis center.
It wouldn’t feel much like the month of July without a Red, White, & Blue Scramble! This year’s event will take place on Sunday, July 20 at the Brentwood Golf Course. It will be a 4-person scramble, and members can form their own teams or allow the pro shop to pair them up. Lunch, beer, and prizes will all be provided for the $20 entry fee.
As usual, there are also plenty of Golf Mixers scheduled this month on the Citrus Hills Course. Members can sign up for the Tiger Mixer on July 10, the Bonnie & Clyde Mixer on July 16, or Duffer’s Mixer on July 27. Each mixer costs $10 for members and includes food, beer, cart fees, and prizes.
