Live Mermaid Shows!

The park’s underwater theatre puts on two different live mermaid shows twice each day.

In addition to the spectacular mermaids, Weeki Wachee Springs also has a River Boat Cruise, Animal Shows, and the Buccaneer Bay Water Park.

Located about 45 minutes south of the Villages of Citrus Hills, Weeki Wachee Springs, is unique among Florida State Parks, is close enough to visit regularly, and it is a fantastic place to entertain the kids and grandkids.

There is plenty of fun and excitement to be had for all ages at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park!

Live Mermaid Shows

There are two different Live Mermaid Shows that visitors can see at Weeki Wachee Springs. The most popular is their version of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid. This show follows the story of a mermaid who meets a prince and wishes more than anything to become a human. She makes a deal with an evil sea witch, and she and the prince must defeat the witch to be together.

There is also the Fish Tails show, which allows the mermaids to demonstrate all of their underwater abilities like swimming, eating, and drinking. This show is also filled with multiple musical numbers.

River Boat Cruises

In between mermaid shows, one of the other popular attractions at Weeki Wachee Springs is the River Boat Cruise. Climb aboard one of the park’s large pontoon boats and sit back to enjoy a guided tour of the Weeki Wachee River. On these tours, you will see all different types of nature and wildlife.

Animal Shows

Buccaneer Bay

While all of the shows at Weeki Wachee Springs provide plenty of education and entertainment, Buccaneer Bay is where the real excitement happens!

This is Florida’s only spring-fed water park, meaning that all of the pools and water rides use natural spring water from Weeki Wachee Springs. There are lots of great watersides to enjoy as well as a kiddie pool that is also packed with excitement.

Adult Fun

While many aspects of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park are geared towards entertaining children, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the park if you are looking for more adult-oriented fun.

There are dive shops located at the park that facilitate scuba diving in the springs, and there are also places to rent kayaks and canoes to further explore the springs on your own.

Whether you are looking for a unique, kid-friendly experience or more grown-up fun, there is something for both at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
