Club Connection - Circle of Friends

Circle of Friends: A Timeless Tale of Connection and Community at Citrus Hills

In the vibrant master-planned community of Citrus Hills, an extraordinary journey of friendship and camaraderie began in 2002 with the founding of the Circle of Friends. Originating from a simple idea during a casual drive back from the beach, Nancy Hammond, Marti Jones, and their friends envisioned a space where women could gather monthly for lunch without the constraints of agendas or cliques.

From its humble beginnings, the Circle of Friends quickly gained momentum, attracting 120 people to its very first information session. What started as a casual concept evolved into a beloved institution with a substantial amount of women attending the inaugural meeting, all eager to share a meal and, perhaps, find a new best friend.

Nancy and Marti enlisted the support of their friend Rebecca Holland to help run the group. As the club's popularity soared, it eventually was given to the country club due to its massive growth but its leaders are still in place passionately carrying the vision for the Circle Of Friends. This incredible group, cherished by residents of The Villages of Citrus Hills, has become a welcoming haven for both long-time community members and newcomers alike.

One of the group's unique features is its inclusivity. With a diverse membership spanning various ages and backgrounds, the Circle of Friends truly offers something for everyone. Some members have attended every meeting since the club's inception, a testament to the lasting bonds formed within this community.

“The concept is Simple, Let's do Lunch and maybe even meet your new best friend!”

Upon joining, each member receives a personalized notebook and nametag, fostering networking opportunities among the women. Beyond the joyous gatherings, the group serves a practical purpose for those new to the area, providing valuable recommendations for everything from the best nail salons to trusted healthcare professionals.

The Grille Room's executive chef meticulously plans the menu for each meeting, offering members a delightful preview to RSVP for upcoming months. It's a culinary experience that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the gatherings.

While the Circle of Friends is a members-only group, requiring application and membership fees, its exclusivity contributes to the close-knit and supportive atmosphere that defines this remarkable community within Citrus Hills. As the Circle of Friends continues to flourish, it remains a testament to the enduring power of connection, the beauty of shared meals, and the warmth of true friendship in the heart of Citrus Hills.
