Oh how the time flies! It feels like we just started 2015, but we are already down to only two months left in the year!
The month of November brings us another packed schedule of events and activities here at the Villages of Citrus Hills. Whether you are looking for fun social events, competitive golf tournaments, or great dinner specials, we’ve got plenty to go around on this month’s calendar.
The 2015-2016 Show Series
November marks the beginning of the 2015-2016 Show Series here at the Villages of Citrus Hills. Starting this month and running through the spring months, we will have lots of great entertainment acts performing at the Activity Center Auditorium and in the Hampton Room.
This month’s shows features an Elton John tribute performance on Thursday, November 5, Paul Tanner’s Vegas-style show on Tuesday, November 10, a hilarious performance from comedian Cathy Ladman on Thursday, November 12, and the phenomenal Orlando Jazz Orchestra performing on Monday, November 16.

Social Events
The social calendar will kick off November with an Autumn Harvest Dinner Show featuring live music from The Banjocats on Friday, November 13 in the Hampton Room. The dinner menu will feature Turkey and Stuffing or Baked Ham with Pineapple Raisin Sauce. Dinner will be served at 6 pm with the live music starting at 7 pm.
Tuesday, November 17 will be a competitive day at the Villages of Citrus Hills with a Mah Jongg Tournament in the morning and afternoon in the Activity Center Card Room, followed by the monthly Trivia Challenge happening in the Hampton Room that evening. If you like to play competitive games, this is a date you will definitely want to mark on your calendar.
On Thursday, November 19, members will have the opportunity to get some holiday shopping done at the 11th Annual Holiday Boutique. This event will feature more than 50 local merchants selling all different kinds of gift ideas in the Hampton Room from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Arts & Education
One of the very first events in the month of November will be the monthly Doc Talk seminar on Tuesday, November 3 at the Activity Center. This month’s guest is Dr. Nishant Nerella from Citrus Cardiology Consultants and he will be speaking about Abnormal Heart Rhythms.
Coffee & Canvas will be back on Saturday, November 21 at the Activity Center from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. This month, Vanessa Fuller-Brown will be instructing the group on replicating Georgia O’Keeffe’s “Red Poppy.” Tickets for Coffee & Canvas are $50 and include all the supplies you will need.
The Citrus Hills Vacationers Club will be meeting again on Monday, November 23 at 6 pm in the Activity Center Auditorium. This month, the group will hear from guest speaker David Holmwood, who works for Viking River Cruises.
Sports & Recreation
The Skyview Tennis Center will be holding their Mixed Doubles Championship Tournament on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday November 8 with four different skill divisions. There will also be a Burger Cookout following the conclusion of the tournament around 3 pm on Sunday, November 8.
If you aren’t quite ready for tournament action, you might want to attend the Free Beginner Tennis Clinic on Tuesday, November 10 at 11 am.
Golfing events for the month will kick off with a Pro Shop Scramble on The Oaks course at 8:30 am on November 7. The Oaks course will also be hosting the 2015 Men’s Senior Match Play Championship on November 9, the Ladies’ Citrus Cup Championship on November 13, and the 11th Annual Couples Championship on November 23.
Over on The Meadows course, there will be a Thanksgiving edition of Duffer’s Mixer on Sunday, November 29 at 3:30 pm.
Dinner Specials
Skyview Restaurant will be starting out the month in style with an Italian Night dinner special on Tuesday, November 3. The menu will feature Chicken Parmesan, Veal Marsala, Shrimp a la Vodka, and Steak Fontina.
Tuesday, November 17 will be Seafood Night at Skyview Restaurant with their really fun “Create Your Own Fresh Fish Dish” menu. You can pick from five different types of fish, then choose one of four different ways to have it prepared, and finally topped with one of four different sauces.
Over at The Grille, you won’t want to miss Fiesta Fajita Night on Tuesday, November 24 from 5 pm to 8 pm. This fun Mexican menu will contain Chicken Fajitas, Chicken Quesadillas, Chili Nachos, and great specials on Coronas and Margaritas.
Both Skyview Restaurant and The Grille will be having Thanksgiving Dinner specials on Thursday, November 26.
As we work our way through the month of November and into the holiday season, keep in mind that Bella Vita Spa will have pumpkin facials and sugar scrubs on special all month. And make sure to mark your December calendars for December 5, which is going to be Demo Day at Skyview Driving Range.
