Palm Coast offers a perfect mix of golf resorts and lush nature preserves.

One of the many things that residents of the Villages of Citrus Hills love about our community is that our location puts many destinations, to the east or to the west, in Florida just a short drive away.

Whether you are getting away for a day or the whole weekend, there are endless options for great places to explore.

One relaxing weekend getaway location that sits right between St. Augustine and Daytona is the beautiful community of Palm Coast on the Atlantic. This is the perfect place to kick back for anyone who loves to golf, explore nature preserves, or spend a day at the spa.

Interested?  Let’s take a look at what a fabulous weekend in Palm Coast might look like!

Where to Stay in Palm Coast

If you are looking for a true vacation experience, and plenty of options for golfing, then the place to stay is definitely Hammock Beach Resort. Between the amazing resort-style pool, the fabulous spa, the resort restaurants, and all of the golf courses, you may find yourself spending an entire weekend here without ever seeing the rest of Palm Coast.

On the other hand if you’re just looking for a good name-brand establishment to lay your head at night, the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Coast Town Center offers clean and spacious rooms, a great pool, and a location just a few miles from Flagler Beach.

Things to Do in Palm Coast

Palm Coast is known for its fantastic golfing options. In addition to multiple Hammock courses that are outstanding, you can also tee off at the Palm Harbor Golf Club, Cypress Knoll Golf Course, Grand Haven Golf Club, and The Grand Club Pine Course.

Another great way to spend your time in Palm Coast is fishing. Fishing along the Intracoastal Waterway is an experience that many enjoy.  There are dozens of local companies that can take you out on a charter for the day to catch Redfish, Spotted Sea Trout, Flounder, Snook, Cobia, Sharks, Tarpon and more.

If exploring nature on your own is more to your liking, you can check out Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Waterfront Park, and Princess Place Preserve to find a variety of local wildlife.

Places to Eat in Palm Coast

Many of the hotels in Palm Coast feature their own excellent restaurants, but there are also plenty of others to pick from outside of the place you choose to stay.

You’ll find really fun Italian dining experiences at both Giabella’s and Focaccia. Both of these restaurants are relaxed and casual.  You’ll want to try the pasta dishes at Giabella’s and the pizza at Focaccia.

One of the more popular restaurants in Palm Coast is actually a very casual BBQ joint that has outdoor seating right on the water. Captain’s BBQ is known for having some of the best BBQ around, and they can back up that claim because they are listed as one of TripAdvisor’s Top 10 BBQ Spots in the Nation!

If you are looking for a more formal dinner option, the Atlantic Grille at Hammock Beach is a great choice. They are known for their fresh seafood and an outstanding wine list. You are welcome to dine there whether you are a guest at the resort or not.

If your idea of a great relaxing weekend getaway includes some gorgeous golf courses, a little fishing, spa treatments at the hotel, and some excellent food, then Palm Coast just might be the perfect oasis for your next trip. And the best part is that it’s just over two hours away, so you can get there easily and return as often as you like!
