July Activities And Events At The Villages Of Citrus Hills

It’s the Fourth of July weekend and we are all in the mood to celebrate here at the Villages of Citrus Hills! In addition to being festive for America’s birthday, we are also proud to announce that we recently received five “Best of the Best” awards from the Citrus Chronicle. 

Their readers voted us as winners for Local Golf Course and Golf Pro Shop, as well as honorable mentions for Banquet Facility, Country Club, and BellaVita Spa & Fitness Center. It is truly an honor to see all of our hard work appreciated in the community, and we thank all of the residents who voted for us! 

     Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the event and activities                             that we have scheduled for the month of July!

Social Events

The first big social event of the month will be Magic, Comedy, and Mind Tricks with mentalist Eric Anderson on Thursday, July 14 in the Hampton Room. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. 

The Trivia Challenge will be back on Tuesday, July 19 in the Hampton Room with a brand new set of challenging themed questions. The actual challenge starts at 6:30 pm, but there is also a dinner at 5:45. And if you don’t have your own team ready to compete, you can always join the “Wild Card” table! 

Another big performance coming to the Hampton Room this month is Foxxx: A Blonde Musical Production. This combination of dinner and a show will take place on Thursday, July 28 with dinner being served at 6 pm and the show starting around 6:45pm. 

If you missed out on all the fun at June’s Summer Splash Sunday, you can make up for it by being sure not to miss the next one on July 31 at the Activity Center Pool from 1-4 pm. There will be live music from Eric Ray, and lots of refreshments. 

Arts & Education

With many of our residents up north for the summer, there aren’t many arts and education events scheduled for July, but there will be another DocTalk session on Tuesday, July 5. The guest speaker will be Katie Lucas, and she will be exploring some of the myths associated with aging. 

Golf & Tennis

Serious golfers will want to have their game ready for the VIP Card Tournament Series Qualifying Event at Ocala National on Wednesday, July 6. Remember that you need to play in a minimum of five qualifying events in order to be eligible for the Championship Event. 

If you are looking for golf tournaments that are a little bit more laid back, you might want to check out the Firecracker Open at Citrus Hills on Saturday, July 2 or the Stars & Stripes Tournament on Monday, July 4th. 

There will also be clinics for anyone looking to improve their game throughout the month of July. Beginners can learn the basics on July 11, 12, and 13, while intermediate golfers can get more advanced training on July 12, 19, and 26. 

Over at the Skyview Tennis Center, there will be a Free Beginner Tennis Clinic open to all members on Tuesday, July 12 at 11 am. If you are looking to add tennis to your regular activities, this is a great way to learn the game. 

Dinner Specials

As usual, our friends at Skyview Restaurant have some unbelievable dinner specials planned for the month of July. The ones you definitely won’t want to miss are the Patriotic Buffet on July 4, Thanksgiving in July on July 12, and Lobster Night on July 14. 

Over at the Tiki Bar, they are planning an All-American Buffet with live music for the Fourth of July. They will also be having an Island Buffet on July 21 with live music from Bickley Rivera.

On Tuesday, July 26, The Grille will be having Taste of Italy night with Chicken Cacciatore, Pork Marsala, and Seafood Lasagna on the menu. 

If you happen to find some time for yourself between all of the exciting activities and events this month, our friends at BellaVita Spa will have Clean Green Tea Facials on special all month long. This is the perfect way to relax after celebrating the Fourth of July!
