With the Gulf Coast to the west, Lake Rousseau to the north, and dozens of small lakes to the east, Citrus Hills is literally surrounded by great fishing waters. 

One of the greatest assets of the Nature Coast area is that there are endless opportunities for fishing. Living in the Villages of Citrus Hills you are in close proximity to all of these options, which is a dream come true for anglers of all ages.

If you are new to fishing in Florida, you will want to make sure that you are in compliance with all of the state and local regulations. Depending on the type of fishing you are doing, you may be required to purchase a license. Your charter captain, or resort manager, should be able to assist you in this regard. Licenses are generally not required for charter fishing, but are usually required for non-charter fishing.

Angler’s Resort Motel

Located along the banks of the Withlacoochee River, Angler’s Resort is an ideal location for Bass fishing. The resort offers motel rooms, boat rentals, and a full service bait shop. In addition to the excellent bass fishing, there are multiple boat tours that depart from the resort on a regular schedule. Citrus County Fishing Charters is a smaller operation that is run by Captain John Andrews. He is a local resident with more than 20 years experience running fishing charters. That experience, combined with a vast knowledge of the local waters, allows him to know depending on the season, exactly where to look for Kingfish, Mackerel, Cobia, Snapper, Grunts, Sea Bass, and Goliath Grouper.

If you are looking for a boating experience where everything is taken care of for you, then Homosassa & Crystal Rivers Fishing Charters is a great place to start. Captain Jody Hogan is a local resident with years of experience running fishing charters, scalloping charters, and manatee tours.
